USGBC-LA Offers GPRO Fundamentals of Building Green Sessions
The Los Angeles chapter of the U.S Green Building Council has partnered with Metro to offer the Green Professional Training (GPRO) Fundamentals of Building Green course. The course will be offered at the Metro Headquarters in Los Angeles in three separate two hour sessions on April 7, 21 and 28.
This course teaches the basics of sustainability and provides an overview of the essential strategies and work practices that make buildings more efficient. GPRO covers the “green gap” between standard trade skills and the new awareness required to successfully implement sustainable building practices. GPRO Fundamentals qualifies for AIA and GBCI CE Credits.
Subjects covered during the course include: Causes and impacts of a changing climate; Complying with green codes and standards; Economic and health benefits of green building; Overview of green building strategies; Transitioning to sustainable construction practices; The importance of building commissioning (systems quality assurance); and Understanding LEED.
