Coverings Etc offers several types of sustainable tiles. Many of these tiles are made from familiar materials, including cement and porcelain, but the company is also pioneering solid surface tiles manufactured from different types of industrial waste. Other products include tiles made from recycled glass bottles (BIO-GLASS) and aluminum that has been salvaged from old airplanes (BIO-LUMINUM). Coverings Etc was founded in 1998 by Ofer Mizrahi by focusing on creating materials with only non-toxic components or materials that have been completely upcycled and remain fully recyclable. One notable product is ECO-TERR, a pre-cast terrazzo tile with 70 percent recycled marble and granite aggregate. Another product, ECO-CEM contains fiber cement with fly ash from post-consumer recycled wood.
