Construction Time-Lapse for New EarthCam Headquarters

EarthCam officially opened the doors to its new 10-acre headquarters in Northern New Jersey: The EarthCampus.

The LEED-certified workspace was designed by Steven M. Davis, FAIA, of Davis Brody Bond in collaboration with Spacesmith. The architectural team transformed the old factory site into a vibrant campus aimed at boosting employee health and collaboration. Davis reimagined one of his signature materials, stabilized aluminum foam. Taking a completely new approach, by exposing the organic nature of the translucent panels, Davis clad the structure in a high-tech glow. Made from recycled materials, the façade also acts as a sunshield for reduced energy consumption during the day.

The employee-centric green headquarters reinforces the company’s commitment to employee wellness and promotes a healthy physical work environment. The revitalized grounds, originally designed by famed Landscape Architect James Rose, include meditation areas, walking paths and bike trails. The EarthCam Arboretum adds to the natural beauty of the campus and features more than 50 species of carefully curated flora.

The entire construction process was documented by more than 40 different time-lapse cameras from the groundbreaking ceremony on September 29, 2015 to the grand opening party. EarthCam relied on a combination of its professional construction camera technology, 360° photography and drone video to document the nearly 3 year project.
