Living Product Expo Calls for Proposals
The creation of the Living Product Challenge kicked off a groundbreaking event that brought together leading minds in the product industry to inspire a revolution in the way materials are designed, manufactured and delivered: the Living Product Expo. The Living Product Challenge re-imagines the design and construction of products to function as elegantly and efficiently as anything found in the natural world.
At Living Product Expo 2017, the organization wants participants to share and discover disruptive new ideas and technologies that reshape their materials landscape, accelerate the pace of innovation and make Living Products possible today. The Living Product Expo organizers are now seeking proposals for speakers at this years’ conference. The Expo will take place September 12 – 14, 2017 in Pittsburgh.
The focus of Living Product Expo 2017 is “Healthy Products for Everyone.” Imagine products made completely from non-toxic inputs and factories that support equitable development in their local communities.
Manufacturers are using the Living Product Challenge framework to rethink the way products are made. Instead of trying to be “less bad,” they are creating goods that have a positive impact. The Living Product Challenge is a framework for manufacturers to create products that are healthy, inspirational and give back to the environment. Using the Living Product Challenge framework, products can be created that are healthy and free of toxins, socially responsible and respect the rights of workers and have a net positive benefit for both people and the environment.
Proposals can be submitted through the Living Product Expo website. The deadline to submit proposals is March 8, 2017. Proposals will be reviewed during the month of March and session acceptance notifications will be sent out in April. Full conference registrations must be received by May 31, 2017.
