Open to the public free of charge during select public exhibit hours, the Solar Decathlon invites visitors to tour the team houses to gather ideas to use in their own homes. Consumers can learn just how easy it is and how good it feels to save energy, water, and money by making smart, sustainable choices.

Solar Decathlon 2017 features several activities in addition to the competition, including:

• Tours of the Solar Decathlon houses and village
• Solar Decathlon education events, including workshops for consumers and professionals, and Education Days for middle schools
• The Sustainability Expo at Solar Decathlon.
