Rinato Terrazzo Countertops Made From Recycled Glass

Terrazzo & Marble Supply (T&M), a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), offers Rinato Terrazzo countertops made of cementitious recycled glass-based material. Glass that was once destined to be buried in landfills has been recovered and reused as a raw material in the crafting of Rinato. This material provides all of the benefits of standard terrazzo combined with the additional benefit of environmental sustainability, reports the company. The recycled glass in Rinato slabs is set and bound in a cement matrix that includes recycled fly ash and slag for additional fortification rather than non-renewable or petrochemical materials.

Rinato designs are appropriate for both traditional and contemporary décor and colors include neutral tones, pastels and primary colors. In addition, Rinato countertops can be custom designed to complement any interior. Common applications for this material are countertops, backsplashes, bathroom vanities and tabletops, and it can be fabricated much like natural or engineered stone. Full slabs of Rinato Terrazzo are 62 in. by 96 in. by 1.25 in.and weigh approximately 14 lbs. per sq. ft.
