A Very Green Kitchen at the University of Pennsylvania
This video explains how when adding a kitchen to the Penn Women’s Center at the University of Pennsylvania, it became a great example of how an environmentally friendly kitchen can be created. While it doesn’t focus exclusively on the surfacing, there are some really interesting aspects to sustainable building that are covered, from reclaimed wood for the cabinetry to water recycling to energy efficient cook tops. Largely funded by a “Green Fund” grant, both the creation of the kitchen and the finished project became learning and teaching tools.
