Renewed Materials, Inc. (RMI) provides recycled surfaces to the sustainable design community. With a focus on social and environmental responsibility, the company aims to provide a variety of unique surfacing solutions sourced directly from salvaged waste.
RMI introduced ALKEMI-copper to the ALKEMI-acrylic line of recycled surfacing and tabletops. The material is SCS certified and contains 88 to 97 percent pre-consumer, post-industrial recycled content of copper, solid surface and recycled acrylic. ALKEMI-copper can contribute toward satisfying credits 4.1 and 4.2 under LEED. It is VOC-free and is SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certified, making it suitable for both commercial and residential interior surfaces including countertops, wall surfaces and bathroom vanities.
ALKEMI-copper may be fabricated and installed by solid surface professionals using conventional woodworking tools and solid surface methods. ALKEMI-copper is available in seven colors (Cuprum, Amber, Tango, Luna, Dusk, Brume and Oriole) and can be finished from matte to high-gloss. It is made in the U.S. and can also be recycled at the end of its lifecycle.
