NYC Creates Oyster Reef Using Recycled Toilets

In an effort to protect the shoreline, New York City is dumping crushed porcelain into Jamaica Bay to create an oyster reef. Not only is this project diverting waste from the landfill but it is also saving water. The toilets used to create the reef are being removed from schools across the city and replaced with more efficient fixtures.
